Commercial Boiler Options
At Warmshires, we can install a new commercial combi, gas or oil boiler and offer any advice that’s required about sizing and the most suitable boiler for your premises.
Commercial Combi Boilers
Combi boilers can be either gas or electric, with gas being the more common option in both homes and workplaces. Both types can provide your business with hot water on demand and are a highly efficient choice for commercial premises due to their compact size and ease of maintenance. Commercial combi or condensing boilers can supply all your business’s central heating requirements, as well as hot water for other uses, such as food preparation and washing-up facilities.
Commercial Gas Boilers
Commercial gas boilers are highly efficient and use latent heat as fuel. Natural gas is often cheaper than other heating fuels, making a gas boiler a cost-effective choice for your business, especially if you have a large space that requires heating. Gas boilers can provide consistent heat and are known for being both highly reliable and durable.
Commercial Oil Boilers
Commercial oil boilers have a relatively straightforward mechanism which means they tend to require less maintenance and repairs than other types of boilers. They are incredibly efficient as they convert fuel into usable heat quickly and can generate enough hot water to meet the demands of most commercial businesses.

Commercial Heating FAQs
A commercial boiler is a pressurised system that uses a fuel source, such as natural gas, oil or electricity, to heat water that is used to provide heating and hot water in a commercial building. There are several different types of commercial boilers and some use the hot water itself while others generate steam.
On average a new commercial boiler can cost between £6,000 and £10,000 (without VAT). However, the exact cost will depend on the size required and the type of boiler you have chosen.
A well-maintained commercial boiler can last between 15 and 30 years, although the exact life space will depend on the type of boiler and how it’s used. Regardless of the type of boiler regular maintenance and servicing in line with manufacturer recommendations is essential to prolong the lifespan of your commercial boiler
Boiler size is classified according to its output, which is measured in KW. The general rule of thumb for sizing commercial boilers is to allow 50-60 KW of heat output per square metre of space.
A commercial heating system provides hot water and heating to commercial buildings, such as retail spaces, offices and warehouses. This system could be powered by a commercial boiler with hot water or steam being sent through pipes to radiators which heat the space. However, there are also several other types of commercial heating systems.
- Warm air heating systems. This is where warm air is distributed throughout the building through vents and ducts.
- Destratification heating systems. This is a type of warm air heating system that circulates the air to force warmer air down and cooler air up and is especially useful in larger commercial spaces, such as warehouses and factories.
- Air rotation heating systems. This is a ductless heating system that works by moving large amounts of air at low speed to create an even temperature throughout the commercial building.
- Radiant heating systems. This works by heating surfaces directly, such as walls, floors or ceilings, through electromagnetic radiation, rather than heating the air.
- Heat pumps. A heat pump works by extracting heat from an outside source, such as air, ground or water. This heat causes the refrigerant liquid in the pump to turn into gas which is then moved through a compressor forcing a rise in temperature.
- Gas, oil or combi boilers. Commercial boilers convert a fuel source into hot water or steam which is then pumped into radiators to heat the commercial building.
